Internal Pelvic Release Work
Service Description
Internal Pelvic Release Work (IPRW) is a holistic approach to pelvic care that combines external alignment with internal release techniques to reduce pelvic pain, improve pelvic floor function, improve prolapse symptoms and enhance overall wellbeing, at any stage of life. IPRW involves the gentle but deliberate touch of the muscles, ligaments and connective tissue (fascia) within and around the pelvis, via the vagina. Thus, restoring optimal quality of the tissues and creating space for physical and emotional tension to be released. An IPRW session is completely woman-led, allowing full control of the session be in the hands of the woman receiving the bodywork. We work together to identify areas of tension that need attention, and the woman is supported to use her breath and awareness to complete the release. The pelvis can store tension for a myriad of reasons. Some of these include posture, previous injury, muscle imbalance, physical or emotional trauma, repetitive movements, surgery and lifestyle choices. This tension can result in misalignment, weakness or pain and can negatively impact the function of the womb, ovaries, bladder and bowel. IPRW can be beneficial for any woman, at any stage of life.
